  • Adorable patterned foliage

  • Definite fascination value

Peperomia Prostrata is a relatively sought after member of the Peperomia family, and often goes by the name of String of Turtles, and there is no doubt as to why. These adorable trailing specimens have the most gorgeously ornate patterned round veined foliage that comes in shades of purples to greens, very reminiscent of a turtles shell.

As a mat-forming specimen, they're often ideal for use in hanging baskets, as over time they will find their way to the edge of the planter and cascade gracefully down. Note though that these are slow growers, so will not dominate a space too quickly, making them ideal for a smaller apartment or space to grow.

The String of Turtles houseplant is also considered semi-succulent, meaning they have relatively low watering needs, however as dwellers of the Tropical Jungles of Ecuador, they will appreciate high humidity and some bright indirect light to thrive best. A great candidate for a Terrarium whereby they will not crowd out other Terrarium residents.

Pair this cutie with a planter of your choice be it to adorn a shelfie, hang from a hook or just be a tabletop focal point. Whichever you choose this little plant will bring a smile every time.

Please note: Peperomia is not considered toxic, but prefers not to be a snack item.
